Short Track Super Series ‘Lumberjack Swing’ Rescheduled to Sept. 7-8 Due to Weeklong Rain
GRANBY, QUEBEC – Facing an unsettled weather pattern bringing rain to the area throughout the entire week, officials of the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco together with the promotional team of Autodrome Granby and Le RPM Speedway have postponed the ‘Lumberjack Swing’ events.
The ‘Lumberjack Swing’ will now take place Monday, Sept. 7 at Autodrome Granby in Granby, Quebec and Tuesday, Sept. 8 at Le RPM Speedway in Saint-Marcel-de-Richelieu, Quebec.
The back-to-back nights of racing will include the HYTORC of New York North Region STSS Modifieds (60 laps, $10,000 to win each night) and the Madsen Overhead Doors Inc. North Region STSS Sportsman (30 laps, $1,500 to win each night).
“We appreciate the efforts of Dominic (Lussier), Jean-Francois (Tessier), Charles-Olivier (Lampron) and their entire team to reschedule the ‘Lumberjack Swing’ events,” STSS promoter Brett Deyo said.
“Our fans and teams look forward to competing in Quebec every year. With the forecast this week, it did not look like we would get that opportunity. We can now all look forward to September.”
The series moves on to Action Track USA in Kutztown, Pa., Wednesday, Aug. 5 as part of the 155th annual Kutztown Fair. The NJ Quality Drywall South Region STSS Modifieds will be in action with a 50-lap, $5,000-to-win A-Main and fully paid 20-lap, $1,000-to-win B-Main.
